The father, a brother and a sister of Newark’s great beer baron
Gottfried Krueger, along with their spouses, children and other family
members, are buried in a family plot that holds 18 bodies. Gottfried
himself, of course, is buried in an elaborate mausoleum in Fairmount
Cemetery along with some other family members, including his second
wife, Mary. It’s not clear why Gottfried chose to be buried in Fairmount
instead of Woodland, but one theory that makes sense is that
Woodland wasn’t prepared for the magnitude of the mausoleum
