Moving along more headstones were reset in Section 1800 as part of today’s work. Foundations were uncovered and the surface leveled with concrete and shims when needed. The base of the stone was set in place and cemented. Then the stone was reset on the base. Mortar was used when the surfaces were rough and stone adhesive when the surfaces were smooth as in marble. In a follow up operation, a concrete collar was added when the stone needed additional support. Also going forward, the ground area will be leveled with soil and grass seeded in a follow up operation. The resetting of the Klingel headstones, which required the use of a crane, is funded with $100 in donations. Thank You.
