Winter Clean Up

With many weed trees already cut down by our landscaper and stacked along side the internal roadways surrounding Sections 1, Q, Y and M, a tree service was hired to chip, clean up, dispose of and further address many downed limbs and branches throughout the maintained area of the cemetery.

Laura Shackleford, born a slave

Laura Shackleford was born a slave on a plantation in Bainbridge, GA, in 1861 and lived to be 100. But she was best known for starting anorganization that arranged funerals for poor, black members of theseveral communities where she lived.
